Rides and EventsTuesdays in August
Ride Location: Hospital Road Lot at 6:00 PM Sharp
Ride Description: The Allaire Tuesday Beginner Group Ride. Rides are for the beginners and those not familiar with Allaire, we all ride in one group, and we are only as fast as the slowest rider so you don’t have to worry about being dropped. We also have a great cast of characters that are happy to give you tips on how to avoid some of the bumps and bruises we’ve all experienced. The only requirements are a bike, a helmet, water, and a sense of humor. According to the sunset calendar, we should have 1.5 hrs to squeeze the ride in. We hope you can attend.

Ride Description: Pre-rides for the Mountain Creek Summer Scramble lead by Jeff Lenosky
You can purchase a single use XC lift ticket for $7. Current JORBA members (bring your JORBA membership card)get a $3 discount on a single use ticket or $5 on a full access ticket – another great reason to join JORBA!

 

Wednesdays in August

Albert’s Mountain Bike Ride
Ride time: Wednesdays starting at 6PM.
Ride Location: Patriots’ Path Parking lot off of Sussex Road. (map)
Ride Description: Beginners Ride – Warm up on Patriot’s Path, then into Lewis Morris and back.
Where: Meet at Patriot Path Parking lot off of Sussex Road.

Marty’s Bike and Brew Mountain Bike Ride
Ride Time: Wednesdays starting at 6PM.
Ride Location: Marty’s Reliable Cycle of Hackettstown
Ride Description: This is a mountain bike ride that leaves from the Hackettestown store at 6:00 sharp. The shop closes at 5:00 on Wednesday so the employees can go on the ride. There will be intermediate and expert paced rides. The ride will go through Stephens State Park, Saxton Falls and Deer Park. The ride will be awesome, mostly because Megan Schmidt and Mikey Shank will be guiding you. After the ride, everyone is welcome to gather up at Bea McNally’s for brews and food!

Mud Chix Clinics
Ride Dates: Dates: Wednesdays in August – 8/7, 8/14, 8/21
Ride Time: 6 to 8 pm
Ride Locations: Tourne County Park on 8/7 and 8/14
Chimney Rock/Washington Valley Park on 8/21
Ride Description: Learn new skills or improve your already awesome arsenal of skills with supportive and awesome ladies. Each week we will learn one or two new skills and then apply it to the trails.
Skills Covered: Basic Fundamentals, braking, wheel lifts, cornering, skinnies and I also take requests
Limited to 6 ladies a session
Cost: $45 per session or $120 for all 3!

Parking for Washington Valley Park will be in the lot on Chimney Rock Rd located here.


Thursdays in August

JAR Weekly Kresson Trails Ride
Ride Time:  6:30 PM
Ride Location: Kresson Trails in Cherry Hill near the Kresson and Springdale Road intersection.
Ride Description: Social group ride for all levels we are just out having fun. No one dropped Helmets required. Approximately 6-10 miles. Rolling, wooded single track. Contact Jay with any questions at 856-470-8967 or chtrailcrew@gmail.com.

Saturdays in August

 MudChix FREE group ride.
On August 10th, Come on out for a free guided ride on the fantastic cross country trails that Mountain Creek has to offer!
Not sure if you are up for the challenge? Well, the ride is suitable for advanced beginners and up. We will be stopping as needed to practice on any challenging sections of the trail. We will be keeping a steady pace with re-grouping at trail intersections. You will need a bike in good working order, helmet, gloves, extra bike tubes (in case you flat), snacks and water.
Ride meets at the top of the mountain at 11 am. Wheels down at 11:15 am. $7 Single Lift Cross-Country Tickets are available in the Bike Center. See you there!

Sunday August 18th – The Ramapo Rally
Choose from six beautiful, marked routes: 12, 25, 50, 62, 100, or 125 miles — through the farm and lake country of northern and western New Jersey.

  • Scenic routes and cue sheets
  • SAG wagons/bike maintenance by local bike shops
  • Fully stocked rest stops
  • Post-ride meal for all riders
  • For non-members, free trial BTCNJ membership valid until 11/1/2013.
Registration Time
  • Check-in opens at 7:00 AM and closes at 10:00 AM. Rain or Shine!
  • Century and Ultra-Century riders must depart before 8:00 AM.

Pre-register through August 1: $40.00 Pre-register after August 1 through August 11: $50.00 

A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to Camp Sunshine in Ridgewood, NJ, which has been aiding multiply-disabled young people since 1960.
