Trail Maintenance This Weekend

Trail Maintenance Schedule for November 17th and 18th 2012

Hurricane Sandy and the Noreaster have impacted many of the areas trails the volunteers are needed.

What: Eagle Rock Trail Maintenance
When: Saturday, the November 17th @ 10am.
Where Eagle Rock Reservation meet at the Afterglow entrance to the Reservation, in Verona.
Description:  Bring work gloves, saw, pruners, drinking water/beverage, snacks, etc.

What: Wildcat Ridge WMA trail clearing
When: Sat, November 17, 9am – 4pm

Description: We are going to continue trail clearing Saturday 11/17/12.
WCC registered and JORBA members are welcome to volunteer.
Meet 9am on Upper Hibernia Road, under the power lines.

We will start clearing the Wildcat Ridge Trail ( Yellow) south towards the reservoir.
Be prepared for walking…no bikes.
Wear long sleeve shirts, jackets, long pants, work boots, and bright orange as there will be hunters out there.
I have a few hardhats, but bring hardhat and eye protection if you have it.
Tick repellant, Poison Ivy protection.
Bring water.
Gloves supplied.
Leave your chainsaw at home.
Folding hand saws and two man saws are available.


What: Ringwood – Trail Work
When: Sun, November 18, 8:30am – 1:00pm
Where Ringwood State Park
Description: Jorba crews will split into  2- 3 groups to clear cut logs, branches and re-route trails around root balls. Be prepared to walk several miles with tools or ride bikes along technical trails.
Wear sturdy shoes, bring gloves and water.
Tools will be provided.

What: Allaire Trail Maintenance
When: Sun, November 18, 8am – 12pm
Where Hospital Rd lot

Following TM we will have our annual post-tm campfire and pot-luck picnic.

What: Mercer County Park Trail Maintenance Day
When: Sun, November 18, 8:30am – 12:30pm
Where: 316 South Post Road West Windsor NJ (map)

We will be meeting at the Marina at 9am for all of the 2009 TM dates 

We generally finish around 12 pm – 1 pm Please bring something to drink.
Tools and Gloves will be supplied.
